PC Players Unlock Final Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam Map

Hey Console Players, You're Getting Lapped

by Veggie Jackson

Much like respect, infamy, and Boy Scout merit badges, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam’s final level, "Operation Hastings," must be earned.  EA and DICE challenged players on all three platforms (PC, PS3, and Xbox 360) to perform 69 million team actions before the game’s final map would be released.  As of today, PC players are the first to unlock Operation Hastings.

The PC community, where Battlefield was born and raised, has hit the 69-million mark in 27 days, blowing both console versions’ communities away.  Xbox 360 players are just over halfway there, with around 36 million team actions, while the PS3 community is I n third, with only 27 million.  Team actions are any action in the game that assists a teammate, such as healing, reviving, repairing vehicles, supplying ammo, or spotting enemies.

I’m not surprised to see the PC version hit the mark first, but I figured that the Xbox 360 version would be closer than halfway there.  I know I’ve been doing my part, spotting everything that moves, and throwing ammo crates at the feet of every squadmate and teammate I see.  After all, I’ve got to get my points somewhere, and with a kill/death ratio of about 0.65, it sure as hell ain’t coming from my stellar shooting skills.
