Prince Of Persia Screens Emerge
Lots of Artsy, Unknown Levels Of Fartsy
Well that was quick! On Monday, we reported that Ubisoft would be revamping the Prince of Persia series, and just two days later, we got pics.

The pics, found in the French version of Joypad magazine, are scanned in and, therefore, not of the highest resolution, but the striking art style is undeniably cool, bringing to mind games like Okami and Crackdown with its pseudo-cel-shaded, watercolor-on-canvas look. Apparently, according to a half-decent translation of a French site covering the pics, the game’s look will play heavily into the gameplay as well. Much like in Okami or Twilight Princess, one of your tasks will be to restore color to the world after an evil force has drained it. Sounds a LOT like Okami, actually. Or Rainbow Bright.
Anyway, looks cool so far, and I’m dying to see this thing in motion. If the current pace of news releases is any indication, we could have some video by tomorrow, followed by the game’s release on Thursday and the “Greatest Hits” edition on Friday.

Wow, the art direction is sick. Nice pics, man.
i have never played a game in the series. These pics has sparked an interest
Wow... these look fucking amazing. Prince of Persia has always been a rocking series, but this just looks fantastic.
One BIG hint these pics give us: the iron claw. It looks like that sucker is going to open the game up to a new level, allowing you to hook, climb, and slide down a lot more areas at will. I am a huge PoP fan (mikey, why have you never played this series? shame on you), but this just makes it better. They might be advancing the prince's parkour skill up to Altair level, albeit much more over the top. Even with much love for the series getting rid of the "only one way to get there" method would be beautiful.
What do we think, iron glove over a soft pink human hand, or badass automail hand replacement?
