Well, pilgrim, if you was looking to rustle up a pre-order bonus when you buy Rockstar’s upcoming wild west title, Red Dead Redemption, you moseyed into the right saloon.  Over on the official site for the game, Rockstar has revealed the pre-order bonuses for the game, and the list stretches damn near the length of the Pecos Trail.  Okay, I’m done with the cowboy talk now.  Sorry.

American players will have their choice of 7 different pre-order bonuses , depending on which retailer they buy it from.  Amazon is offering a $10 Amazon gift card and the “Golden Guns” pack, which increases your fame with each kill, Best Buy has “The War Horse,” the strongest, fastest mount in the game, and the Rockstar Warehouse is giving away Red Dead T-shirts.  Target and Walmart are offering $5 and $10 gift cards, respectively, while Game Crazy seems to have gotten the short end of the stick, offering a mini-guide for the game.  As for Gamestop, that’s up to you, as they have opened their bonus up to a vote.  “The Savvy Merchant, The Deadly Assassin (and) The Expert Hunter” outfits are up for voting, but with anyone, and not just pre-order customers, able to vote, the people who are actually getting the pre-order may not get the one they want.

In the UK, the four biggest game retailers are offering four of these bonuses as well, so there’s no shortage of options.  In fact, there might be too many options.  One might go so far as to say that this town ain’t big enough for the seven of us.  Sorry; couldn't resist.
