Rumor: Capcom Working On New Strider Game
And Kojima Rumor

Capcom is big on remaking their classic franchises recently. They’re working on Street Fighter II HD Remix, Street Fighter IV, which is basically a really, really cool version of SF II, and they’re doing the same thing for Bionic Commando, with a remake already out and a reinvention on the way. There’s also Mega Man 9, which couldn’t be more retro if it tried. So what’s next? EGM’s Quartermann thinks he knows.
According to the most recent issue of EGM, Capcom is looking at reviving its futuristic ninja franchise, Strider. Quartermann claims that the title will be a Devil May Cry-type action title starring the original protagonist, Strider Hiryu, who was last seen as a playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
The article also mentions that Metal Gear Solid creator, Hideo Kojima, is working on a first person shooter, and has met with several development houses to discuss the project. For many of you, the Kojima news is the big draw here, but for me, news about Strider is more exciting than anything Metal Gear-related could ever be. I know it’s only a rumor at this point, but the prospect of teleporting into a hot zone, slicing my way through evil ninjas with my Cypher blade, and slide-tackling mini-bosses has me positively jumping out of my skin in excitement. I’ll be following this one extra close, so stay tuned for more details.

As soon as I saw this title, I knew you wrote this article, Chris. So once they announce it will you finally stop bringing up strider once every two days? Or will you just talk about how excited you are every single day of the week now?
Hopefully we'll really see this title come to life.
@ Racoonacorn: This won't help. It'll only make me talk about it more. There is no respite from the Strider talk.
this guy looks cool, but would rather have something Metal Gear related.
We need more unique IP, not sequels and remakes...
