Rumor: ESPN Streaming Over Xbox Live
Na Na Na! Na Na Na!

Xbox 360 owners may be getting even more streaming video content soon, if a New York Times’ report pans out. The Times is reporting that Microsoft has “held in-depth discussions” with ESPN’s parent company, Disney, about the possibility of streaming the cable sports network’s programming to Xbox Live.
According to the report, ESPN would stream content live to the console on a subscription basis. The Times also states that their anonymous sources believe that Microsoft may be creating games for ESPN as a part of the deal. Despite the credibility of the source, we still have to consider this story from an anonymous source a rumor
Adding ESPN content to the Xbox’s already sizable library of video content is a great idea, but why would anyone pay extra for the service? There’s no shortage of sports news online and on ESPN for free, so this arrangement would have to offer something extra to get a nickel out of me. And Around the Horn won’t cut it. Perhaps some sort of connectivity with existing and future sports games would help, but if it's just scores and highlights, I'll just flip over to ESPN on cable, check ESPN.com, or read my newest copy of ESPN magazine.

One step in the right direction for on demand content. I know ESPN is available to anyone with basic cable, but I am excited to see al la cart video-on-demand services starting to spring. One day I hope to never pay Comcast a single dollar again. Except for internet.
Who is that she's giving me a bonar.
Interested to see how this plays out. Microsoft should make a deal with TiVo for the DVR interface. In reality though, it's going to be a while before I could ever consider cutting out DirecTv.
If only they could get Sunday Ticket...
It's Erin Andrews, Karoshi.
