Rumor: Infinity Ward Working on Modern Warfare Prequel
Starring Ghost

Prepare to see the all-time opening week video game sales record shattered yet again, because a rumor has surfaced stating that Infinity Ward’s next project will be a prequel to 2007’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Fan site This Is Xbox is reporting that the same source that leaked early info about Call of Duty: Black Ops is reporting that the next Infinity Ward’s next game will focus on Modern Warfare 2’s mysterious, masked soldier, Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley. The game will reportedly explore Ghost’s origins and how he became a member of Task Force 141, and re-visit many locations from Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. The source also says to expect the game some time in 2012.
Activision could pretty much slap a Call of Duty logo on a bag of broken glass and make a few million by morning, so imagine how successful a game based solely on the franchise’s version of Snake Eyes could be.
