Rumor: PSP 2 Specs Found
But Is It Just a Rumor? Yes. Yes, It Is.

If the Euro-people over at Eurogamer are to be believed, Sony is currently working on a true sequel to the PSP handheld game console. This is separate from the PSPgo, which is more of a redesign of the PSP. The Euros claim that they are in possession of specifications for a “PSP 2” that, from a technical standpoint, should blow away the original.
The website claims that with its quad core chip, the new handheld device will be able to play games that rival the original Xbox. It will also be able to run Open GL 2.0 and DirectX 10, making it a pretty serious gaming machine that should be able to run modified versions of PC games.
Obviously, this falls squarely under the category of rumor since we haven’t seen any of the specs, have heard nothing from Sony on this, and, well, it’s Eurogamer. In the microscopically slim chance that this is is a reality, though, it begs two questions; when can we expect some sort of an announcement, and how many analog sticks will it have?

UMD: back with a vengeance!!!!
You can't expect a handheld to be able to rival current gen consoles. There's only so much you can put into something that small. I highly doubt any PSP2 is coming out anytime soon. Sony seems to be trying to revive the PSP right now.
