Rumor - Yun and Yang Joining Super Street Fighter IV

Japanese Arcade Enthusiasts Rejoice

by Veggie Jackson

Japanese Street Fighter fans have been eagerly awaiting the reveal of the new characters to be included in the Arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV.  American fans, have been waiting just as eagerly, but since there are approximately as many arcades in America as there are Giant Pandas, we’re basically just waiting to see who the next DLC characters will be.  Both groups may have gotten an answer today, as Arcadia magazine has teased Yun and Yang as the next two World Warriors.

Arcadia is a magazine that focuses entirely on arcades.  In America, we’d call that magazine “Inevitable Cancellation Weekly,” but in Asia, the arcade scene still exists.  In their feature about the arcade release of Super IV, they included a silhouette image of a rollerblade and a skateboard, the trademark accessories of Yang and Yun, respectively.  I guess it’s possible that this is either a red herring, or that it indicates something entirely different, but it seems like a pretty safe bet that Yun and Yang Lee are coming to Super Street Fighter IV.

Two of the most popular characters to come out of the Street Fighter III series, the Lee brothers were originally palette swaps of one another, but became separate fighters in Street Fighter III: Second Impact.  With their similar but varied Kung Fu styles, they’ll make great additions to the roster, and will increase the influence of the Street Fighter III series, which will make hardcore fans happy.  I’m still holding out for Elena, but if Yun and Yang are what we get, I’m okay with it.
