Sega Announces Thor: The Video Game
Verily, I Say Thee Yay!

It’s a big day for the God of Thunder. We’ve already heard about Thor’s inclusion in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, and now Sega is announcing that they’ll be publishing Thor: The Video Game, based on the upcoming movie.
It was already well-known that Sega owned the license for a Thor movie game, but today they made it official, and announced a few details. Set in the mythical land of Asgard, Thor will take its titular hero through the nine worlds of Norse mythology as he attempts to save his home realm. The third-person adventure will feature an upgrade system based on “Valor Points,” and a story written by comic scribe Matt Fraction.
Thor: The Video Game will be released for all major consoles, with specific features that will take advantage of each system’s strengths; the 360 and PS3 versions will be in HD, the Wii version will feature motion controls, the PSP release will use a stylized presentation, and the DS version will be a 2D side-scroller.
As exciting as the concept of a Thor game is, I’m seriously concerned about this game’s prospects. Sega published both Iron Man movie games, and we both know how those turned out. Hopefully, they have learned from those botched projects, and give us a Thor game that’s worthy of the character’s legacy.
