Shaun White Snowboarding Target Edition Announced
Surprisingly, It Seems Worthwhile

We’ve seen plenty of games with store- exclusive content. Gamestop, EB Games and Best Buy often give out exclusive codes to unlock characters, levels or even play modes. Even Toys R Us has gotten in on the exclusive business. This story is a little different, though, and to be honest, a little cooler than the average exclusive. Target, long-time sponsor of snowboarder, Shaun White, will be offering a version of Shaun White Snowboarding. The special edition will include new playable characters, exclusive scenes, and even an entire Target-themed mountain, complete with a Target chalet.
“Shaun has been riding for Target for nearly seven years, so this exclusive version of Shaun White Snowboarding was a natural fit for our relationship with him,” said Troy Michels, Target Lifestyle Marketing. “It’s great to see the Target brand brought to life alongside Shaun in the game and we’re confident that Target guests and gamers will be eager to see what has come from our collaboration in the Target edition of Shaun White Snowboarding.”
This is definitely a step up for the exclusive content paradigm, and one that could inspire other stores to include more significant exclusive content in the future. An entire mountain worth of content sure beats an "exclusive" code that everyone with internet access will be able to read 10 minutes after it's released. Way to go, Target. I'm actually looking forward to the Target edition of this game now.

very cool move on target's behalf, though i have never once purchased a game from target..
The game's probably already full of advertising, now Target gets its own freakin' mountain? Am I the only one who thinks there may be something wrong here?
