Skate 2 Demo Hits Xbox Live Thursday
And You Might Win Something, Too

Three more days until I get happy again.
One of my favorite games of 2007 was, without a doubt, EA’s genre-changing title, skate. In fact, other than Mass Effect, it’s the only game from last year that gets any sort of regular play in my house. And I spend a lot more time in San Vanelona than on the Normandy. This year, EA tried to satiate my thirst with skate It for the Wii and DS, but neither one came close to the skating experience that the original provided. Back in October, when skate 2’s release date was announced, I resigned myself to waiting until January 21 to add handplants and hippy jumps to my skating arsenal. So how happy was I today when I found out that the skate 2 demo will be available almost two weeks ahead of the release date? Very. This Thursday, the presumably stripped-down version of the game will be available on Xbox Live as a free download. This Thursday release hints toward a simultaneous PS3 demo release, but since it’s never been explicitly stated, we’ll have to file that one under rumor…until tomorrow when it will almost certainly be confirmed.
The fun doesn’t stop there, though. Xbox.com also details a contest for those who download the demo. All you have to do is register your Gamertag and download the demo, and you’ll have a chance to win up to six custom Skate 2 skateboards and a whole boatload of Microsoft Points. They didn’t need to sweeten the deal for me to download the demo, but I guess it couldn’t hurt.
Three more days…

been skating pretty much my whole life. Skate is my favorite video game of all time. Can't wait for this!
I am the only person that just could not get into the first? I feel like maybe I missed something, especially since as a lad, I dabbled a bit in skating myself.
you could be sean :)
I loved the first one, it gave me what i always wanted, a more realistic take on skateboarding, not the crap Tony Hawk games.
Oh one thing, does anyone know if they are going to allow custom soundtracks in this game? I feel this is something that is very much needed for those long skate sessions, the music they provided in the first game got old.
Not soon enough..
I can't wait for this. I loved Skate. and played it all the time. Hell, I don't skate, but I love free stuff to win.
I think I just creamed my jeans.
