Snoop Dogg Joins Rock Band

Unfadeable, So Please Don’t Try To Fade This

by Veggie Jackson

Snoop Dogg, the controversial rapper/pimp turned respectable family man/pimp has revealed, in his own, inimitable way, that he will be bringing his “impressive catalog of hits" to Rock Band.  This comes as part of Snoop’s newly announced deal with MTV, which also puts Snoop back on TV in a variety show called Dogg After Dark.  The show will feature interviews, sketches and musical performances, and has been picked up by MTV for a seven week run.  Apparently, MTV has a terrible memory, because they tried this before; remember Doggy Fizzle Televizzle?  Either you don’t, or you wish you didn’t.

Anyway, the announcement barely mentions the Rock Band deal, and offers no details about it.  It does, however, warn us all to “screw (our) wigz on tight,” and inform us about Snoop’s continued running of “thangs.”  Thank goodness for that.  Here’s the release, in all its glizzory (white folks; that means “glory”)

"When Van Toffler and I sat down Boss to Boss, a global quintuple threat takeover was masterminded. As the world of entertainment keeps changing, we felt it was the right time to let Snoop Dogg back on MTV so we could continue to run thangs with music, movies, DVDs and bring Hip-Hop to Rock Band.  So screw ya wigz on tight and tune in on Tuesday nights for the first step to the next level of Snoop D-O double G. Dogg after Dark is the only nightclub tv show hosted by you know who. So take a journey with me through the mind, body, soul and musical mindstate of the most prolific, authentic game spitter. And tha sh*t is funny, so show me da money!"

If it's classic, then I can understand. All the stuff since that first (or second) album has sucked.

Besides, he likes being privy to "culture" right?

I liked in Doggy Fizzle Televizzle where he slapped the guy and his pimp hand got HUGE.

Actually some of the mixes with him and other artist are pretty good. I've heard one or two with Travis Barker and one with Erik Schordy that I liked a lot.
