Sony Doesn't Deny New PSP
Doesn't Confirm It, Either, But Doesn't Deny It.

With all the PSP2 rumors floating about these days, it was only a matter of time before Sony stepped up and commented on all the speculation about sliding screens and the removal of UMD slots. In an interview with MTV’s Multpiplayer Blog, John Koller, head of SCEA's marketing of PSP, briefly spoke about the rumors, stating that the company “Can't comment either way," but added that, "I will reiterate that the digital component is very important to us. That's all we can say at this point."
It’s certainly not a denial, nor is it a confirmation of, as Acclaim’s Dave Perry put it, a “fully digital online device;" either. But you can almost hear the wink in that sentence, can’t you? It's as if he's got a secret, but can't spill anything just yet. Let's hope his next statement reads something like, "I can't comment on a second analog stick right now, but I will reiterate that the 'wanting people to play the damn thing' component is very important to us."
