Sony Trademarks Two New Game Names

One Familiar, One Intriguing

by Veggie Jackson

Two interesting trademarks have been filed by Sony recently.  Both are for new game titles; one which points to a much-rumored, highly-anticipated sequel to one of the best shooters on the PS3, and another which is a bit of a mystery.

Lending credence to rumors of a space-based sequel to Warhawk, Sony has trademarked the game title, "Starhawk."  While it seems obvious that this will be some sort of space-based update to Warhawk, one could also assume that it will be a superhero game, starring the extremely obscure character, Starhawk, seen below.

But somehow, I doubt it.  I’m not sure how the on-foot sections of Warhawk would work with the series brought into the zero-g environment of space, but I’m assuming that magnet boots and jet packs are somehow involved.  If so, sign me up now.

The other name to which Sony has laid claim is "Dominion."  No one seems to have a clue what this one is about, but the name sounds cool, and, for me at least, brings to mind games like Overlord, Popoulous, and Simcity.  Mash those three together (the mash-up is ALL the rage theses days), and you’ve got yourself on hell of a title.
