Star Trek MMO Gets New Developer
Unnamed Studio To Boldly Go .
All the Trekkies out there are gonna be disappointed. The long awaited Star Trek MMO has hit a major speed bump on its path to existence. P2 Entertainment, formerly known as Perpetual Entertainment, has stopped development on the project and handed it over to another bay area developer. No specifics yet on who the new developer is, but we know they’ll basically be starting from scratch. While they will be inheriting the IP and the content of the game, they will not be receiving the original code developed by P2, meaning that the game won’t see the light of day for quite a while.
It’s a tough time for MMO’s, with the apparent cancellation of Marvel Universe Online, Gods & Heroes and the unnamed NCSoft/Spacetime Studios MMO. This major delay doesn’t help things, but at least the project hasn’t been dropped entirely.

I wouldn't worry about the game. Considering the history of the game I am surprised it even lasted this long.
Hope the new dev guys make better work of it than P2.
