Super Street Fighter II HD Remix Could Come This Month

Already Submitted To Microsoft, Sony For Approval

by Veggie Jackson

We’ve done more than our share of bitching about the seemingly endless development cycle for Super Street Fighter II HD Remix.  The title was announced over a year and a half ago, and while we’ve seen plenty of lovely images of all the hand-drawn World Warriors, we want to play the damn thing. I mean, come on, people.  It’s a remake!  Is there really that much coding to do when you’re basically making new sprites for a 14-year-old game?

Well, hopefully we won’t be reaching that 19th month, because Capcom forum moderator, Christian Svensson, has stated in a post that the game has been completed and sent to both Microsoft and Sony for approval on their respective download services.  Svensson marks this month as Capcom’s release target, but wasn’t able to confirm a simultaneous release for the two console versions, nor nail down an actual date.

I sincerely hope this title finds its way to both download services this month.  This week if possible.  We’ve waited more than long enough, and it’s time to get this remix ready for purchase.  Otherwise, there won’t be enough time in between this and Street Fighter IV, and people may just lose interest.
