THQ Lays Out Its E3 Plans
The Hits Keep Rolling On

THQ has been on a bit of a roll recently. The last two years have seen the release of some of the publisher’s best games; UFC Unleashed 2009, Red Faction 2, Darksiders, De Blob, Saints Row 2, and even WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 have all been critically and financially successful. Looking to continue this string of hits, THQ is planning to be a major presence at E3, and will unveil at least four big-name titles at the expo in June.
Speaking with IGN, THQ’s CEO, Brian Farrell, stated, “I think we're going to blow people away at E3,” adding, “You'll be seeing Saints Row 3. You'll be seeing the next Red Faction. You'll be seeing more of Homefront. We've been talking about it, but we'll actually show some of our Warhammer 40k MMO, and I think people are going to go, "Oh my God. They've got their stuff together."”
In the rest of the interview, Farrell talks about bringing De Blob to multiple platforms, the upcoming motion controllers from Sony and Microsoft, the difficulty of innovation in an annual series like Smackdown Vs. Raw, and the company’s position in the industry, and it’s actually a pretty interesting read. It looks like THQ is putting a lot of faith into the Saints Row series, with Farrell stating that when gamers see the game at E3, they’ll proclaim, "This is not your father's THQ.” Whatever that means.

Thank you, Deadpool; at least somebody out there appreciates mindless violence and over-the-top sillyness!
