Tiger Woods 12 To Include The Masters

Virtual Augusta Set to Kick Your Virtual Ass

by Veggie Jackson

In the history of gaming, there have been dozens, if not hundreds, of golf games released in the United States.  It may be hard to believe, then, that none of those games have ever featured golf’s greatest championship, The Masters, or its home venue, Augusta National Golf Club.  EA will change all that, though, with their release of the next iteration of the Tiger Woods PGA series, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters.

"State of the art laser scanning technology" was used to replicate the most venerable course in golf (and, arguably, all of sports), which will be available for play in several modes.  “Tiger at the Masters” challenges players to outdo Tiger Woods on his four Masters tournament wins, while “Masters Moments” presents memorable events from the history of the Masters.  Players will also be bale to take a created character through the ranks of the PGA, working their way to the legendary Green Jacket.

Tiger 12 will also be the first game in the series to include a caddy, who will give advice on shots and club selection as he follows your player through their career.

The inclusion of The Masters is a great one for EA for two reasons.  First off, serious golf fans will be thrilled to finally have the chance to conquer a virtual recreation of Augusta.  Secondly, EA can keep the Tiger Woods name on the game, but focus people’s attention on something other than a philandering nerd with an unhealthy fixation on pancake waitresses.

Tiger Woods golf with no Tiger Woods on the cover? Way to hedge those bets EA.
