Timbaland Uses Beaterator on Real Albums

But You Probably Never Will

by Veggie Jackson

Apparently, Beaterator, the PSP-exclusive music-making title, is more than just a game.  In fact, it’s being used by Timbaland, the face of Beaterator, as a full-on music production suite.  An interview with Koalition reveals that Timba has used the game to produce beats for the Jay-Z album he produced, Blueprint 3, and plans to use it for future projects.

Shock Value 2, Timbaland’s upcoming album, will also feature beats created using Beaterator.  With Timbaland so personally involved in the development of the game, it’s not surprising to hear him praising it, but to actually use it to create beats for major hip-hop albums is pretty impressive. It sounds like the game is a pretty robust music creator.  While that means that plenty of aspiring DJs and musicians have plenty to dig into, it also means that my tone-deaf ass will probably never touch it.
