Is the a publisher out there that’s as hot as Twisted Pixel right now? In the span of a year, they dropped the excellent ‘Splosion Man and the equally awesome The Maw on us, and this year, they’ll unleash the highly promising Comic Jumper. When it comes to new IPs, online distribution, and just plain fun, Twisted Pixel is on fire. Looking to continue their momentum, the publisher has announced that they have just finished a contract with Turbine to create a new “top-secret” console MMO.
Twisted Pixel is no stranger to contract work; they had a hand in Blitz: The League 2 and NBA Ballers: Chosen One before they began working on their own projects. What their contribution to this MMO will be is unknown, but their previous work-for-hire experiences went well beyond designing menus, so they may end up playing a major role in the game’s development. It's also worth noting that both games they contributed to were published by Midway, which was bought by Warner Bros., who more recently bought Turbine. No idea what this means, but
Pretty much nothing is known about the game, other than that Twisted Pixel is proud of it, thinks it will be fun, and can’t wait to play it themselves. If we want to know any more, we’ll have to talk to Turbine. So we’ll do that, and let you know if they actually tell us anything.
