We’re only a few days away from the launch of the retro-riffic Mega Man 9, and as such, it’s time for Capcom to start showing off the goods.  Gamesradar has posted new images of two of the game’s bosses, Plug Man and (GASP!) Splash Woman!  That’s right, I said Splash WOMAN! 

For the first time in the series’ long history, Mega Man will have to face off against a female level boss, and from the look of the images, she’s going to be pretty awesome.  Check out the image of her singing her siren song, calling forth her deadly aquatic shock troopers fish in a wholly underwater level.

Defeating Splash Woman will unlock the Laser Trident, a powerful weapon that shoots through walls and has a killer name.

And then there’s Plug Man. 

Sad recipient of one of the more unfortunately monikers in the franchise’s history, Plug Man uses electric powers, is super sweet looking, and enjoys the benefit of living in one of those disappearing block levels.  Have fun with that.

Plug Man’s weapon is the (ahem) Plug Ball, which sounds like some sort of marital aid, but is actually a gun that shoots a spark that clings to walls and floors.  It also makes your little Mega Man pajamas all pink and girly, which is sure to challenge many gamers’ sexuality in the same way these bosses will challenge their reflexes.

Stay tuned, because I have a feeling that Capcom is about to go nuts with the boss reveals, and if these two are any indication, we’re in store for an impressive lineup of baddies.
