Ubisoft Opening Mini-Game-Dedicated Label

Doesn't Ubisoft Make Enough Crap Games Already?

by Veggie Jackson

Ubisoft has announced that it will be starting up a new label, Play Zone, that will focus entirely on Wii-exclusive party games.  According to Ubisoft's EMEA Marketing Director John Parkes, "The Play Zone label will provide them with the best games to mingle and compete together in a fun and friendly atmosphere … With our new Play Zone party titles, the Wii gamers who like to spend time with friends and family will have fun with the Wii through innovative and involving mini-games.”  The label will kick off on July 11 with the release of Sports Party, a collection of 9 sports mini-games.

Break out the shovels, folks, because it looks like Ubisoft is about to flood the market with pure crap.  The phrase “innovative and involving mini-games.” Is tough to swallow, since their first game is sure to be a clone of Wii Sports.  What’s next in their line of “innovative” games?  Fairground Games?  That would be original.

That's good, it's really great that Ubisoft, who at one time were known for actually making decent games, are committing all that time to making some of the shittiest excuses for video games that have ever existed. Congratulations, Ubisoft, you are the kings of shovelware.

Taken from my own comment on another post, because seriously, what else is to be said about this... :

Seriously, I decided from now on to limit my ubisoft purchases until they decide to cut in the crap shovelware releases.

even though they do make some gems sometimes, I'm just sick of the general mentality when it comes to the Wii and DS.

So Ubisoft is now pretty much up there with EA in my book of publishers to avoid until their games are cheap, or available use
