Vanquish Demo Goes Live August 31
Ooooooh, Pretty

Is there a development house in the world that’s been as consistently successful as Platinum Studios? Under the Platinum banner, the development house has produced one of the best games on the Wii, MadWorld, one of the most ambitious DS titles, Infinite Space, and an unforgettably brilliant seizure of an action game in Bayonetta. Even before Platinum existed, much of its staff worked together for Clover Studio, who produced the classics Viewtiful Joe and Okami for Capcom. Platinum’s next endeavor is Vanquish, a sci-fi shooter in the vein of Gears of War. Based on Platinum’s track record, I have no doubt that the game will be fantastic, but why listen to me when you can find out for yourselves; the demo’s coming out on August 31.
Atsushi Inaba, Vanquish’s producer, revealed the demo’s release in an interview with Gamespot Japan, which was kindly translated by Andriasang. PS3 and Xbox 360 players will get to check out the game’s mechanics in a sequence called “Velocity Attack,” which serves as a prologue to the game, and will feature a boss battle.
From the screen shots we've seen so far, there's little doubt that Vanquish will be a visual standout. Whether or not the game plays well remains to be seen, but agai, it's Platinum, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Vanquish will be released in the US on October 19, 2010.

Umm, I think they went a little overboard on Robocop.
