EA’s skateboarding simulator, Skate, has forever changed the face of video game shredding.  By completely reinventing skating controls, the game managed to outsell Tony Hawk: Proving Ground, the latest incarnation of the perennial cash cow series, and force Activision to reconsider their own approach.  

On Monday, EA announced that they would be translating the Skate experience to the DS and Wii, in the form of Skate-It.  Today EA released videos explaining how the unique trick system will work on both the DS’ touchscreen and the Wii’s motion controls. 

Looks interesting, if a bit tricky (no pun intended.)  Still no release date for either version, but I suspect they’ll be coming some time later this year.
