It’s been a pretty slow few weeks in the gaming world, with very few big-name titles hitting shelves.  This leaves me with only one new game this week, but at least it’s one I’ve been looking forward to for quite a while.

First and foremost, I'll be trying out King of Fighters XII.  Despite drool-worthy trailers and a huge cast of characters, KoF XII has been getting some negative buzz from people who have seen the game up close.  They say it’s pixilated, and really doesn’t look that much better than KoF ’98, but I’m still excited to get my hands on it, even if Mai isn’t included in the roster.  And hey, if it’s disappointing, I could always trade it in for BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, which I know looks gorgeous.

Other than that, this week will consist of a lot of catching up on games that I’m embarrassed to have not yet finished; Gears of War 2, Dead Space, Twilight Princess, Dragon Quest VIII, and The Lost and Damned.  I know that’s a lot of marquee titles for a week, but I’m fickle, and I lose interest quickly, so I expect to switch out discs pretty frequently.

Hell, I may even pop in The Simpsons Game.  I know it was a technical mess, but the gameplay is acceptable, and the script is better than the actual show has been for years, and it's just that kind of week.
