Well, it finally happened.  After only a three year delay, I finally purchased a PS3.  The $299 price tag and the slick new profile of the PS3 Slim pushed me over the edge, and, with the help of 37 game trade-ins, I finally joined the current generation of Sony’s consoles. So what does that mean for my week in gaming?  It means I get to go back and play all those PS3 exclusives I’ve been waiting to experience.

I’ve barely had a chance to even put it in the disc drive yet, but so far, I’m loving Metal Gear Solid 4.  I haven’t enjoyed an MGS title since he original, so I’m very glad to be back on board after all those naked ninja cartwheels and all that snake eating.  It’s one of the few games that make you say “Nope, they couldn’t do this on the 360.”

Another game that fits that bill is Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.  Once again, I’ve just barely started the game, but I’m already intrigued by the characters and setting.  Also, the game is ridiculously pretty, and I’m perpetually amazed by the way plants move and shift when you walk through them.  I’m easily amused.

The only other PS3 title I bought was MLB 09 The Show, but for some reason, the game isn’t working on my PS3.  It’s telling me to delete corrupt MLB game data, but I don’t have any MLB game data saved.  Not sure what to make of that, but I hope I can get it running soon, as I’d like to play along with the defending World Champion Phillies as they seek their second title.

I’ll also be playing NHL 2K10, but only because I have to review it, along with NBA 2K10, because I want to.  So what are you playing this week?
