Yakuza 4 has been out in Japan for almost six months now (under the much cooler name, Like a Dragon 4: Successor of the Legend), but American gamers won’t get their hands on it until next year.  Luckily, a new trailer has emerged for the game, and while it doesn’t show any gameplay footage, it does show off just how good the game’s cut-scenes will look.

If this trailer is anything like the ones for Yakuza 3, then most, if not all, of this footage will appear in the game’s opening cinematic.  This is good, I suppose, as it avoids the issue of spoilers completely.  A lot of close ups of characters’ faces are present here, and for whatever reason, most of them seemed simply shocked at whatever they’re seeing.  There must be some crazy shit happening off-camera, but we’ll probably need to wait until the first quarter of 2011 to find out what all the fuss is about.
