How to Change Your Goddamn Primary E-mail on Xbox Live
Why is it so friggin hard?

Before you read, this is how to change your e-mail, not how to change your Gamertag or anything like that.
As you may know, I just got an XBox360. Yay! But there was bad news.
While creating my Gamertag, I accidentally typo'ed my e-mail address. Instead of the correct one, which had WingspanTT, I entered WingspanT in it.
Now, on 99% of web forms, when you are asked to enter your email address, you are either asked to confirm it via a registration email, or you must type it in twice. Live didn't do this.
Don't get me wrong, I admit I am a moron.
However, upon realizing my mistake it appears there is no way whatsoever to correct this through the 360 or xbox.com. If you change your email address under contact info, or even under payment info, you still cannot sign in under the correct Windows Live ID. In effect, I was pretty worried that whatever asshat lived at WingspanT@myemail.com was going to be stealin mah MS points or something.
After being told it was impossible to change, I did a lot of research and FINALLY found that it is possible, but only if you don't have hotmail (I don't).
If you need to change the main email addy your Gamertag is tied to, click HERE, then just go to "edit email address."

that is weird that they do not give you an easier option to change it or no confirmation email. I can't remember if the PSN gives you a confirmation email, I do think though you can change your email address through the XMB, though I haven't tried yet.

I actually never had an issue changing my email address on here. I did have to change my Windows Live ID first but I did it with not one hiccup. I understand what you did and you got it resolved. Good stuff.
The only reason I keep my hotmail account is so I can use it to sign up for various accounts...
