Calling all E74 victims

Potential Class Action suit boiling up

by Zantagor

Seems that there's a potential Class Action lawsuit boiling up over the E74 issue that's been severly on the rise lately.

(as reported recently by Joystick)

Kabateck Kellner, LLP http://www.kbklawyers.com/

are now buidling a case about it and are looking for people who had the E74 issue.

So I suggest you sign up if you think that MS should be fixing the E74 for free on the same level as the RRoD.

I feel like talking out loud about the E74 makes it real.

Ya, I sent mine yesterday as RRoD (even though it was E74) I'm expecting them to call me saying they need 150$ for repair. At which point I'll just tell them screw it, send me the system back unrepaired, cancel my live account, and I'll be selling most of my games to switch to PS3.

I'm a broadcaster, and I won't shy away to suggest people watching my channel to do the same if it ever happens to them. I'll also send a letter to the consumer protection office here in canada about it.

No way I'm paying 150$ CDN for something that isn't my fault.

I just wish more media sites would talk and pressure Microsoft about this shit.

well hopefully this might bring it more into the media's attention, though its amazing that stuff like this has really gone uncontested for the most part.

I really don't believe the consumer should be on the hook for this repair when it is not their fault at all.

Um... they do fix it for free. Just go to the support site, fill out the info, and say you got the RRoD. That's what I did for my E74. I'm willing to bet lots of monies that Microsoft never even boots up the RRoD systems they get back in the mail. They probably stick them in the same hole in the Nevada desert that E.T. is occupying and send people new ones.

Well, we'll see.... status says "Repair in progress".... when I get home, if I see a message on my answering machine and it's them... we'll know.

you shouldn't have to lie about your error message to get them to fix it.. prolly could have just made sure the hardware was solid before they put it on shelves and solved a lot of their problems

    Well, Repair Status: Repairs completed.

that was oddly quick.... I sent it wednesday, we're friday (the same week)...

Either the Ontario repair center are much more efficient than the US Texas one.... or something's fishy

my registered Xbox on the site has now changed to Refurb/Rtn Xbox Pro... so I guess they did repair it for free
